Tuesday with Team 72!

Today:

Today Team 72 read to selves and read to others.  We had a group perform reader’s theatre to the class.

We had math today. We practiced more subtraction and addition strategies.

In writing, we wrote about our day yesterday at the zoo.  We drew pictures of First, Next, Then and Last and wrote about the pictures.  We are practicing starting sentences in different ways.

Team 72 had gym today.  Please share what we did.

In science, we reviewed how penguins stay warm in icy cold water.  We looked at pictures of Rowan dressed in different layers as a penguin.  Rowan did a great job being a penguin yesterday!

Ms. MacMillan will see you tomorrow and Thursday.  Ms. Collins will see you Friday.

Wednesday class leader is Annie.  Please bring in something that will fit in our egg and think of two clues to share with the class. J

Penguin Palooza!

Dear Children and Families,

Another great field trip with Team 72!  Thank you again to all of the parent volunteers!  Today wouldn’t have happened without your support J

Today Team 72 explored the zoo and participated in a program called Penguin Palooza.

Homework:  Please comment something new you learned about penguins.

Try, learn and try again..

Zoo Trip Info:
On Monday June 5th, Team 72 will be going to the Zoo!  The bus will leave Cranston at 9:00 and will return approximately at 2:30.  Students will have a regular dismissal time of 3:00.  Students will be carrying their backpacks for the day.  In their back packs they should bring a litterless lunch, two healthy snacks and a water bottle.  Please make sure your child is wearing comfortable walking shoes.  As well as, weather appropriate clothing and outerwear. The long-range forecast is calling for rain on Monday.  We will be going on Monday rain or shine :)  The program will be indoors and there are a lot of other indoor animal exhibits, as well as, an indoor facility to eat our lunch.

We worked very hard to go back and improve the drawing we made to match our instructions.  We will try our imovies again on Wednesday.

During math we solved a problem about penguins in the zoo.

Scaredy Squirrel visits Cranston School

Today:

In math we explored tools for measuring.  Ask me what interesting tools I looked at.

We a learning how to write instructions so someone else can learn to do something.  We created pictures to match our instructions today.  Some of us even got to start making our imovie!

During reading we read to self and read to someone. Reading fluently will help me understand what I am reading.
