Dear Children and Families,

Tomorrow, Wednesday February 22^nd is PINK SHIRT DAY!  Please come wearing your pink shirts to support Anti-Bullying J

Reminders:

·      Pay for swimming through My CBE Account.

·      Today Team 72 had book exchange at the learning commons for those who have returned their books.  Next class library book exchange is Monday March 6^th.

·      Movie tickets went home today for those families who have bought tickets for Movie Night.

·      Tax Receipts for lunchroom went home today. (more will go home tomorrow)

·      Movie Night at Cranston is Thursday February 23^rd.

We did reading today.  We read with ourselves and read to someone else.

We had gym today.  Please share what you did today.

It was 100^th Day of school today!   In Math, we practiced skip counting and looking at patterns on a 100’s chart and we tried to make 100 using words, pictures and words in as many different ways.  Please share your favorite way to make 100.

In Science, we continued working on our design, labeling materials and writing a step by step instructions on who to build our forts.

Reading Minutes Today: 30 minutes

Ms. MacMillan will see you for the rest of the week J  Ms. Collins will see you next Monday and Tuesday J

Team 72 Celebrates Winter!

Dear Children and Families,

Reminders:

-HOME READING:  Have you gotten a hockey card yet?  Did you use your fortune teller to talk about your book?

Today:

We read to self

We read for 10 minutes.

We had a great time celebrating the French Canadian tradition of Winter Carnaval!  Ask me what stations I tried.

We listened to the story Winter is the Warmest Season by Lauren Stringer.

In math we used our counterpillars to practice adding and subtracting.

During Social Studies we used the laptops to search for facts and learn about Cranston School.  Please return your community map so we can share them.

Tueday’s Class Leader: Teagan (remember to bring a stuffy to share).

Valentine's Day with Team 72!

Dear Children and Families,

Tomorrow is Winter Sports Day J.  Team 72 will be outside for most of the morning.  Please come dressed for the weather J

Reminders:

·      Pay for swimming through My CBE Account.

·      Next class library book exchange is Tuesday February 21^st.

·      Fun Lunch and Winter Sports Day is Wednesday February 15th J

·      There is no school Thursday February 16^th, Friday February 17^th (Teacher’s Convention) and Monday February 20^th (Family Day)

·      Students brought home their Valentine’s in a decorated envelope.

In Math, practiced our describing numbers and place value.

In Science, we started our design plan and labeling our materials.

It was Valentine’s Day with Team 72!  We made a Valentine’s Day envelope and exchanged our valentines with our classmates.

Monday with Team 72!

Dear Children and Families,

Tomorrow Tuesday February 14^th, on Valentines Day, Team 72 will have the opportunity to participate in a traditional Valentines Day exchange.  Students are welcome to bring a valentine for everyone in the classroom (22 in total).  Please only put on the Valentine who it is from, this saves time during the exchange and eliminates the need to bring home a class list J  Thank you!!

Ms. Collins read to us the book, ‘the Little Tree’ by Durga Yael Bernhard. 

In Math, we solved a problem with a partner.  We tried to find out the number of school days being given two hints.  We also practiced our describing of numbers.

In Science, we continued to plan our fort building.
