We can Show what we Know

Dear Children and Families,

Help us bring some Christmas joy to our city’s homeless

The Fill a Sock, Fill a Need campaign provides a Christmas “stocking” of essential needs and small personal items to those in need.

We are asking each student to donate $5 (or more J) to help fill socks to be donated to the Drop In Centre.  If possible, we would also ask students to donate a pair of new, warm, adult sized socks.

We strongly encourage students to earn their donation money by doing chores around the house - shoveling snow, taking out the garbage…etc.

We will be collecting money from students between November 21st and December 1st.  We will also be collecting cash donations during Parent Teacher Interviews.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are Thursday November 24th from 4 – 7 pm and Friday November 25th from 8am – 12pm – No School Friday November 25th. – Conference booking website will open November 17th at 8 pm. for parents.

Reminders:
POWER WORDS:       going  put  said  want  big
-Please bring a shoe box to use during science next week
-Practice Xmas Concert Songs please

Today:

We are learning to read.  We use strategies to help us figure out words.  We point to the words, we look at the pictures, we look at the first letter in the word, we say the letters sounds out loud.  Ask me what strategies I am using when I read with you at home.

In writing we wrote a letter.

In word work we wrote a long list of power words

In math we wrote numbers by counting by 1s, 2s, 3s or 5s. Then we had to create 2 different patterns.

Ask me what I did during music and phys ed.

In health we are creating a class book about how to be a good friend.

Tomorrow’s Class Leader:  Brooke (remember to bring a picture to share.  A photograph or a picture you have drawn yourself)

See you tomorrow!  J
