Researchers Label their Sketches

Dear Children and Families,

Reminders:
-Student-Led Conferences next week.  You come to school for a 15 minute conference with the teachers as well as 45 minutes to have your child show you their learning.  Please email or call us if you have any questions.
-Home Reading: remember to put on your thinking cap and talk about what is happening in your book.

These are words that we are learning to understand the meaning .

Today:

We read to self for 15 minutes today. 

We played hockey, ringette, skipping and used the climbing wall in gym today.

We labeled our sketches of the lodgepole pine tree so another person can learn from our work.

During math we solved an everyday problem about a missing swimming towels.  Ask me how I used pictures, numbers and words to figure out the answer.

Club Friday today, ask me what I did!

Mrs Collins will be with the students Monday and Tuesday. See you Wednesday!

Swimming, Searching and Sketching

Dear Children and Families,

Today:

We read to self, read to someone.  We asked our reading partner to make a connection to what they were reading.

We read for 30 minutes.

We searched our books for important facts to write about Lodgepole Pine trees.  Then we became researchers observing and sketching what we saw.

Swimming lessons have been great.  We will get our report cards from the pool in a few weeks.










Tomorrow’s Class Leader: Addisyn (remember to think about 2 important facts you will to tell us about the object you want to share)

Swim Team 72 Swim!

Dear Children and Families,

Reminders:
-Swimming tomorrow.  Remember to bring a towel and swim suit and an extra snack in a separate bag so you don’t have to bring your backpack.  Wear clothes that are easy for you to put on and take off by yourself.  Girls remember to tie your hair back so it doesn’t get in your eyes when you are swimming.
-Tree Homework due back today
-Home Reading

Non-fiction Writers explore artifacts.  Thank you Wesley for bringing us a real piece of a lodgepole pine tree.

In math we used our math centres to practice adding.  Ask me about a centre I used.

Ask me what I did during music.

We shared our community tree homework.  Bring yours tomorrow if you didn’t have it today.

Tomorrow’s Class Leader: Annie (bring something to share with us and be able to tell us 2 reasons it is important)
