Dear Children and Families,
I am so proud of how hard the Team 72 learners worked this week! It is tricky to stay focused on the first week back from a holiday, but they listened well and tried their best! Well done!
Reminders:
HOME READING: All students need to be reading for 15
minutes every night. You could listen to
someone read, read a home reading book, read using Raz-Kids, read our POWER
words, read a favourite book you have at home.
- Mad Science activity on Monday
morning
-It’s still cold! Dress warm every
day with snowpants, boots, jackets, hats and mitts!
Important
Words:
POWER WORDS: her, him, very,
I’m, play
These are words we are learning to read
and spell.
ACADEMIC WORDS: data, tally, survey community,
tradition, celebration, value
These are words that we are learning to
understand the meaning of in math and social studies.
Today:
We read to self and read to
someone.
We listened to the book Tally O’Mally
by Stuart J. Murphy.
Ask me what we
did during phys ed.
We were so
excited to have free choice writing
time today.
In math we used pictures numbers
and words to solve a math problem. Ask
me how many cars we will need to get to the zoo.
Monday’s
Class Leader:
Addisyn (remember to bring a photo or picture)
Mrs Collins will be with the students
Monday and Tuesday.
See you Wednesday!
:)

Kaitlyn says seven 10's and one 1 to make 71. Ways to make 20 are 19+1=20, 50-30=20, 11+9=20 and 20-0=20. To get to the zoo Kaitlyn decided that one car would have a mom and dad and 7 kids, one would have a mom and dad and 5 kids, one would have a grandma and 6 kids and the other would have Ms. MacMillan Mrs. Collins and 4 kids. This would get everyone to the zoo in 4 cars.
