Dear Children and Families,
Save the Dates:
Arbor Day Celebration May 4th
Science Centre Field Trip May 23rd
Zoo Field Trip June 5th
Reminders:
-Home Reading: practice our Arbor
Day songs please!
Important
Words:
POWER WORDS: practice any 5 you
like!
These are words we are learning to read
and spell.
ACADEMIC WORDS: Arctic Community
Prairie Community
Atlantic Community
These are words that we are learning to
understand the meaning of.
Today:
We read to self and read to
someone. We had to ask our reading
partner to STOP and THINK if they were reading like a robot, race car or they sound
like real talking. Good readers sound
like normal talking so they can understand the words.
During writing today we continued
our tree research reading from books to search for facts. Ask me something I
learned about my tree.
In math we pretended to be the
teacher and checked our Adding Strategies book.
Then we played a game called I wish I had.
Ask me what songs
I am learning for Arbor Day during music.
We shared our hip
hop dance moves during gym
today.
In art we used the sketching
pencils to create a landscape and tree from either Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia or
the Yukon communities in Canada.
Tomorrow’s
Class Leader:
Carsen (bring something to share with us that fits inside Ms MacMillan’s Egg and
have 2 clues ready to help us guess what is inside)
See you tomorrow!
Ms. MacMillan
