Important
Words:
POWER WORDS: back one mother but how
These are words we are learning to read
and spell.
ACADEMIC WORDS: add plus all together doubles
community needs
wants respect
These are words that we are learning to
understand the meaning of in math and social studies.
Today:
We practiced reading to self and reading
to someone. Ms MacMillan’s reading groups had a show off day. Ask me about the book I read to show off my
reading skills.
We read for 30
minutes.
We listened to the story So
Much Snow by Robert Munsch and created something to help us summarize. Ask me what I made.
In math we talked about adding
doubles. I have brought home the 2 pages
I worked on today. We are learning how to read instructions, represent what we
know using pictures and numbers, and look for connections in real life using
our imaginations. Ask me to talk to you
about my pages.
Ask me about music and gym!
During Social Studies we completed
our sorting mat showing how people in our community meet their needs and wants
in Cranston. Then we created a new
community with the children at our table.
We are going to work hard to show respect to the members of our table
community so we can get what we need and want.
Ask me about it!
Tomorrow’s
Class Leader:
Annie (remember to bring a stuffy to share).
See you tomorrow!
Ms. MacMillan
