Today:

We did reading today.  We read with ourselves and read to someone else.

This week Power Words:  We are done the Power Words! Please keep practicing the power list you were given at home for the rest of the school year.  We will have a spelling/reading quiz of half the words tomorrow and the other half next week.  We will keep practicing all of the power words for the rest of the school year.
Remember Grade 2’s should know how to read and spell the words.  And the Grade 1’s should know how to read the words.

We had gym and Music today.  Please share what you did today.

In Science, we started building our forts! We are very exciting and engaged in this building project.  We will be continuing to build for this week and next week.  If you want to bring in more materials please do so J  We also have materials at the school for the students.
Materials: Cardboard, plastic, pebbles, rocks, sticks, cotton balls, white drinking straws, clay, thread spools, rocks, toilet paper rolls, pipe cleaners

In Writing, we did Free Choice writing.  Please share with your parents what you wrote about in your writing books today.

In Math, we practiced Doubles up to 9+9.  Please share with your parents what pattern we saw with the sums (answers) of the doubles. HINT: it’s about skip counting.  Another HINT: Are the sums (answers) odd or even?!
We also created addition number stories with a partner.

Reading Minutes Today: 25 minutes

Ms. Collins will see you tomorrow and  Ms. MacMillan will see you for the rest of the week. J

Tuesday class leader is Xavier.  Please bring in something that is special to you and, of course, can fit in your backpacks. J  We will do Kaitlyn’s compliments tomorrow!!

Have a wonderful evening!
