Swimming, Searching and Sketching

Dear Children and Families,

Reminders:
-Friday Club day tomorrow, half day only.
-Tree Homework due back
-Home Reading

Important Words:

POWER WORDS:            practice any 5 you like!
These are words we are learning to read and spell.

ACADEMIC WORDS:       Arctic   Inukshuk
                         Research   Tree  Lodgepole Pine
                           branch  needles   trunk  bark
These are words that we are learning to understand the meaning.

Today:

We read to self, read to someone.  We asked our reading partner to make a connection to what they were reading.

We read for 30 minutes.

We searched our books for important facts to write about Lodgepole Pine trees.  Then we became researchers observing and sketching what we saw.

Swimming lessons have been great.  We will get our report cards from the pool in a few weeks.

Tomorrow’s Class Leader: Addisyn (remember to think about 2 important facts you will to tell us about the object you want to share)

See you tomorrow!

:)  Ms. MacMillan
