Parent-teacher conference

Dance Residency Sharing

We will be doing a celebration of the learning we have done during dance with Mr A.J. on Wednesday at 1:20-1:50pm. All families are welcome to pop into our gym class and watch what we have been up to.  There will not be a formal performance.

POWER WORDS:              practice any 5 you like!

These are words we are learning to read and spell.

ACADEMIC WORDS:         Reading Fluency

Reading Comprehension 

These are words that we are learning to understand the meaning of.

Today:

We read to self and read to someone.  We had to ask our reading partner to STOP and THINK if they were reading like a robot, race car or they sound like real talking.  Good readers sound like normal talking so they can understand the words.

We used the laptops during writing today.  We had to search for true facts about our tree and write them down.  Ask me something I learned about my tree.

In math we finished creating our Adding Strategies book that someone else could read and it would help them learn to add.

Ask me what songs I am learning for Arbor Day during music. 

I am trying to become a Hip-Hop Master during our gym dance lessons.  Ask me if I was participating using expected behavior.

In social studies we read about the Arctic and tried on clothes we would need to keep us warm.
