Spring Time with Team 72!

Dear Children and Families,

Team 72 will be going to two field trips before the end of the school year.  Parent Volunteers are needed in order to go on the field trips.  We are letting families know the dates now incase anyone needs to make work or childcare arrangements.  One field trip is to Telus Spark on Tuesday May 23rd.  And the other is to the zoo on Monday June 5th.  They are both full day field trips.  Please email Ms. Collins (clcollins@cbe.ab.ca) if you are able to volunteer one or both field trips.  Parents need to have a current police clearance at the office.  Thank you in advance!!
Field Trip forms will not be sent home until closer to the field trip dates.

Reminders:

·      Students went to the Learning Commons today to get out new books.  Please return any late books from home ASAP.  Next Book Exchange is Tuesday April 11.
·      Club Friday is Friday April 7.

Today:

In reading, we did read to self and read to someone today.

We went to the Learning Commons to choose two books to take out and read at home.

In writing, we read a book called, “And Then It’s Spring” by Julie Fogliano.  We were asked to pick our favorite activity we like to do outside in the spring.  We choose a title for our writing and wrote as many ideas as we could.  Grade 1’s were able to draw a picture first.  Grade 2’s were asked to write as many ideas as they could.

In math, we continued to practice place playing a game called “Roll it, Make it, Expand it”, and “Say it, Make it, Expand it”.  We then practiced adding one digit and two digits numbers together.

We had gym today.  Please share what you danced today!

In art, students sketched a picture of them doing their favorite spring activity outside.  We focused on having a back ground and filling up the entire page.

Ms. Mac Millan will see you tomorrow and Thursday.  Ms. Collins will see you Friday. J

Wednesday class leader is Hannah.  Please bring in something that is special to you and, of course, can fit in your backpacks. J

Have a wonderful evening!

:) Ms. Collins
