Team 72 classmates can be good Friends

Dear Children and Families,

Good Friends
Friends are people who are kind and enjoy playing together.  Friends share things, but a good friend would never ask you to give them something so they will play with you.  If someone has asked you to give them something so they will play with you find another person to play with and tell a trusted adult.

Save the Dates:
Trout Release May 26
Family Literacy Night June 1
Zoo Field Trip June 5th

Reminders:
-Tomorrow is lights off day.  We will conserve electricity and work by the natural light coming in our windows tomorrow.  If the weather cooperates we might even work outside!
-Home Reading: please keep reading at home, only 10-15 minutes a day is great!

Important Words:

POWER WORDS:              after, their, about
                              where, then
These are words we are still learning to read and spell.

ACADEMIC WORDS:          Atlantic Landscape
                           Prairie Landscape
                                Farming   Fishing   Logging
These are words that we are learning to understand the meaning of.

Today:

We read to self and read to someone today.  Good readers reread and think about what the writers message is.  Ask me about the poster we read and tried to understand today.

During math we talked about strategies we like to use to help us subtract.  Ask me how I did on the adding and subtracting challenge.

Drumfit with Mrs Quilley and Mrs McBride is Awesome!

During social studies we talked about what people in the Atlantic and Prairie communities use the land for.  We learned the words farming, fishing and logging.

Blog Question:  Have you or someone in your family visited a Prairie or Atlantic community in Canada?

Tomorrow’s Class Leader: Xavier (bring something to share with us that is small and could fit inside Ms MacMillan’s Egg and have 2 clues ready to help us guess what is inside)

See you tomorrow!

Ms. MacMillan
