Reading, writing, patterns and lockdown

Dear Children and Families,

-Veterans Food Bank donations accepted tomorrow.
-Remembrance Day assembly tomorrow at 10:30am.
-FundScrip fundraiser due back Nov 14th.

Today:

We had a Lockdown practice today.  This means we practice staying still and quite inside to stay safe.

In reading we talked about reading strategies.  Reread a book you know, do a picture walk and look at the pictures, search for POWER words you can read.  We read to someone and read to self.

In writing we revised our Bear Story Book.  That means we reread what we have written to ensure our words and pictures are finished and make sense.  We created a title page for our book.  Tomorrow we will edit.

In word work we used chalk to write words outside at the playground.

In math we looked for 2 or more attributes we can use to describe objects in a pattern.

Ask me what I did during music and phys ed.

In health we reread a story called How to Lose All Your Friends by Nancy Carlson.  Then we wrote about ways to make friends.

We watched a video about The Remembrance Day Poppy.
Have a look if you are interested.
