Important Words:

POWER WORDS:              because asked into don’t
These are words we are learning to read and spell.

ACADEMIC WORDS:         data, tally, survey, bar graph,  pictograph        Map, legend, compass rose
These are words that we are learning to understand the meaning of in math and social studies.

Today:

We practiced reading to self and reading to someone.  We are going to also take turns listening to reading.

We put on our thinking caps today and wrote a reading response about the story Snow Bear by Liliana Stafford.  We drew a picture to help us visualize, wrote a connection and wrote a question.

During word work we read these words.  hop can cut pet slop glob bit pan.  What happens if you add an E to these words?

In math we worked hard to read graphs and think about what the data was telling us.

Ask me what I did during music and phys ed.

We learned about using a compass during Social Studies.  Our mapping team had to add a compass rose to our map.  Ask me what we found out.
