Fall, Word Work, My Peace Rock

Dear Children and Families,

Thank you to all of the students who brought in and shared their ‘I Can’ bags to the class.  Students in Team 72 sure can do many things! It is a wonderful way to get to know everyone.

Reminders:
-    Students can bring in their ‘I Can’ bags any day this weekJ
-    If families are not selling any Entertainment Books, please return your package.
-    In-Line skating forms are due tomorrow.
-    Back to School forms are now over due.  Please return forms ASAP.
Today:

We read to ourselves today with our new books from our book bins

Our new power words for this week is ‘ she, he, and, is’.  We practiced these words by saying them, building them and writing them.  Also students can write them in a sentence.

We did our first writing in our writing books today.  The title of our writing is My Peace Rock.  Students drew a picture and labeled their rock.  Some students wrote a few ideas about their rock.

We worked in partners, in math, and played a game called ‘Race to 30’.  We also practiced skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s on our 100 number lines.

Students had gym today!  We played games with the parachute.

In Science we worked on the question, “ When Do You Know it is Fall Outside.”
