Dear Children and Families,

Volunteers for In-Line skating needed!  If you are able to help us out on Sept 21st, 30th or Oct 12th please email Ms MacMillan or Mrs Collins. lgmacmillan@cbe.ab.ca or clcollins@cbe.ab.ca

Reminders:
POWER WORDS:  she  he  and  is
-Half day tomorrow.
-Cover your cough and wash your hands regularly!  Our classroom has become a germ factory!!!

Today:
We practiced reading quietly to ourselves and reading with a partner.  Good Readers read everyday! Mrs MacMillan started working with small groups for reading lessons.

We listened to a story called You be You by Linda Kranz.

Good writers write and draw every day.  We worked in our journals to draw, label and write sentences.  We also practiced Finger Spelling to sound out words we don’t know how to write yet.  Ask me what I wrote about.

During word work we played a rhyming game.  What words do you know that rhyme?

During math we finished our number books.  Ask me what I’m proud of.

We played a parachute cooperation game in gym

In health we learned about a special spot in our classroom we can go to if we are having trouble controlling our feelings. When are feelings are too strong or out of control we take a deep breath to calm down.

Tomorrow’s Class Leader:  Annie

Mrs Collins will be with the students Friday, Monday and Tuesday.  See you next Wednesday!

  1. Retaj said today in her "journal" she drew a picture of herself watching tv and wrote "I watch TV".

In "word work" she remembers below words that rhyme:
Mouse House, clock socks, hat cat, man fan,

In maths she said she worked on her number book and she said, "I'm pround of myself" :)

In "health" She learnt about making one special spot where she can go when she is having problem controlling her feelings.

She made that special spot in her room today by placing her favourite sheep pillow so that whenever she will face trouble controlling her feelings, she will go there sit down take a deep breath to calm down :))
